ORIGINAL TITLE - Chibi Greetings #3: Questionable Situations/ Yu-Gi-Oh! Cards

Okay, so I’m pretty sure you all know about Joey (if not, I’d suggest reading my previous journals or looking through my gallery for a few deviations of mine with him in it) and the fact that I’m looking forward to trading some Yu-Gi-Oh! Cards with people (which by the way, I have my list completed and typed if anyone is interested; just send me a note and I’ll send you my list of what’s available for trade and what-not; also be sure to send this journal to your other friends if they are looking for the same thing). Well, this is something that made me cry while looking through these.

Well, the week/end before Halloween of this year, I was going through all of my cards to try and create a deck for competitions at Anime Conventions that some friends and I will be going to: DaishoCon in November and No Brand Con in April; if anyone’s going to either one, I hope to see you there. Anyways, years ago (in high school) I taught Joey how to play the Yu-Gi-Oh! Card Game, helped him get his very own deck, and-so-on-and-so-forth.

So, I asked Joey to look through my deck to see if there should be anything that needed to be changed or added to it. He asked if he could take my deck home to look at and said he’d either add a few cards to it or just give me a handful of cards that he had many of. I figured any help that he could give would be great.

Halloween weekend came, Joey and I are walking around work and he started bragging on all the cards he had and also about the cards he had given me. I was sitting there thinking to myself that me teaching him how to play was a mistake and he really should quit bragging since it really wasn’t nice to brag (I’m doing so right now, but I have a few questions at the end; I have a good reason to do so). He also told me that there were some cards of mine that are banned (yes, banned) from competitions and it would be a good idea to use some of the cards that he gave me for my deck.

It’s the end of his shift and he asked me if my locker was open and he had my cards with him because he looked through everything and he was done with them. I said it was, and he left. No big deal, right? So, when he left I was wondering what he did to my deck and what he gave me.

Where I'm going with this heart-warming story, as soon as I got home from work, I opened my box of cards to see what he added and what he gave me. On the top in the box, there was my deck. I looked through the whole thing, everything looked the same – nothing looked like new or added to my deck. I felt like he didn’t do anything to it.

When I looked into my box, I noticed there was one card faced down and wondered what the deal was. I flipped it over and almost $#!^ my pants. It was a Holographic, Limited Edition, Dark Magician Girl. He gave me the exact same card for Christmas one year, but I returned it back to him when we didn’t talk for that year, along with a few other cards. After seeing that, I went through all the other cards to see what was all there. There were 85 cards altogether. Here are all the cards he gave me:

I’m sorry to say this, but all the cards listed above are NOT available for trade, except for Regenerating Mummy, Call of the Mummy. You can look up these cards online ( [link] ) and see why I’m not willing to trade for some of these.

So my questionable situations are these:

1. I know every card has a value to it, especially Holographic, Limited Edition cards – whether it is 25 cents to an “X” amount of dollars. But did Joey have to give me such rare cards like Holographic, Limited Edition cards and regular Holographic cards?

2. I’m not trying to sound ungrateful or anything, I’m really glad he did give me all the cards listed above. Why do I feel so guilty for taking them?

3. Same sentence as in number 1. Does anyone know how much all the cards listed above are worth?

Well, anyways, I wish everyone the best of luck with their artwork, and hopefully be willing to trade som Yu-Gi-Oh! Cards with you in the future.
